WOYWW #391

All Right.  This is serious…somewhere the universe went into cut time, and that is just not acceptable! How can we only have 31 more days left in the year???    And it’s Wednesday again, which at least lets us take a break and visit The StampingGround to explore What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday, conceived by the wonderful Julia!

I have to confess; not the most current look to my desk; I took this picture when I thought I was done for the weekend, since I never get there Monday or Tuesday nights…but then after dinner I went up to get wrapping paper, and then finished the card…but neglected to take another picture.

So this is the step where I’m waiting for my Colorburst backgrounds to dry.  I used Ken Oliver Watercolor paper, as it usually stays pretty flat.  I don’t like heat setting them right away, as I think they lose some of the brightness.  That could just be me. The one on the left is a mirror image I placed on top of the right one to not waste any of that pigmenty goodness.  The white above will be the top layer—it is for my Sister in Laws birthday.  I had tried using the straw to spread around the gold Liquid Metals, also by Ken Oliver; sorta worked…Overall the desk is pretty clean, as I’ve learned to move everything away when using Colorbursts.  I get color Everywhere! LOL!

So here is the card a few hours later. (I've also since added a few purple and pink tiny gemstones to break up the white.) Also here is the finished Sled Blueprint card that has been sitting on my desk for weeks.  Hettie thought up the distressed snowflakes—brilliant!

So that’s me; now go back to Julia’s to portal off to other creative desks.  Have a great week everyone.

WOYWW #390

I did it again...almost let Wednesday get away from me...but my pumpkin pie is in the oven, and I now have time to visit crafty places around the world, thanks to Julia at the Stamping Ground, and her marvelous "What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday" blog hop.

While I'm making progress, I'm still behind on my card making; hopefully this long weekend will give me time to finish...my job for the feast is in the oven; my brother is doing the cooking; Now I just have to remember to pick up my Mother! LOL!

So what you see are my TH Blueprint Sled panels, waiting for some layering inspiration.  The envelopes and bases are all done.  Some TH dies that I was contemplating; but probably won't make it on this batch.  Some paper pads that I still haven't broken into..yet; and my guilty pleasure--Mt. Dew.

Here is one of the other TH cards I finished:

And finally, while our Saturday was in the low 60's; this is what greeted us Sunday Morning:

Gotta love Upstate New York!  So for those on this coast: Have a Very Happy Thanksgiving, and those on the other; I hope everyone has a great weekend.

WOYWW #389---Christmas Rules!

Oh my! I almost missed another Wednesday...where is the time going?  And being Wednesday, it is time to go visit The Stamping Ground, and explore What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday, conceived by the wonderful Julia!

From this view; my desk is looking pretty good! Step back, and disaster reigns!

 I’m almost finishing up with my Christmas cards.  This particular design is giving me a bit of grief.  I’ve colored all the images, and used the micro glaze resist (Maybe I should have resisted more! LOL!) …and I’m happy with them. But I’m having such issues getting those panels onto cards!  I don’t have enough of that plaid paper to layer them…haven’t seen anything I like in my 3 trips to the “Big 3”…and just don’t want to go to AC Moore: ours is old and so dated!  Though looking now; the gray outline, which is a die…could actually work...maybe I can cut smaller frames to go on top…hmmmm;

I have various other dies lying about. As well as a few paper packs and inks and stains to be put away.

And here are a few other cards I’ve finished…thank you Pinterest for the pine tree!  That die is Tim Holtz, as is the snowflake stamp.  The Peace Die is from Our Daily Bread Designs.  And you can't see it; but I actually bought a Wink of Stella pen for this one; have to say...pretty nice!!!

So that’s me; now go back to Julia’s to portal off to other creative desks.  Have a great week everyone.

WOYWW #387

Wow..it feels like forever since I last visited Julia at the Stamping Ground to visit with the What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday Crowd.  It's been a whirl wind month! I had a fabulous weekend with Dyan Reaveley, went on a cruise to Nova Scotia and New Brunswick for our 20th Anniversary, and then pretty much was in a state of exhaustion last week...honestly I didn't know it was Wednesday until it was Friday!  LOL!

But I have been busy in the craft room too..and I can see I'm not alone with the Christmas cards started!  I have a few piles of images ready to color on my lunch hours. I have to say; that MISTI has already made paid for itself!  Stamping on watercolor paper can be a challenge...now I can re ink and stamp to get good dark, crisp images every time! (how sad that I am thinking of asking Santa for the larger one...)  The layers with yellow shading will have gold trees over them.  They are all die-cut and ready for gluing.  And the black card in the back is a test.  Straight from Pinterest...a Tim Holtz stencil, with layering paste and embossing powder.  Once I figure a way to finish it, it might be another design for this year.

I actually had a ton of photos to share; but they are all on my phone, which I left at work last night, and as I took the whole day off for a 15 minute mammogram (shhhh), I didn't dare go in to get it!

So I am now going up to my craft room, where I have 5 whole hours to myself... lets see what I come up with for that black card!  Now go back to Julia's and visit some more creative desks.  Have a great week everyone!
