WOYWW #369

Welcome to WOYWW…the “What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday”  blog hop created by Julia at the Stamping Ground.  Julia is recouping from her surgery, so Lovely LLJ is keeping us together,  so hop over there to join the fun.

So, I have to do it.  It has become official. The card table has been set up and covered now for 4 months so I can’t deny it any longer. It is now my official 3rd work desk: devoted to Journaling and Mixed Media.  My dexterity and agility are vastly improving as I negotiate around my room.  (I still can’t bring myself to show an overall picture of it…it is not for the faint of heart!)

So this is my current view. First there was a HUGE tidy-up, because I couldn’t even fit the small Dylusion’s Journal in the front corner.  The white drawer is holding my latest obsession...Gelato's!!  And because I'm me; I'm on the hunt to get every color! LOL!  There is a pile of stencils in the far back left, the box holds my incense, and the was paper I put between the ages of the journals cause I hate smudging all the edges.  Then, since I had so much fun (well, after the stress! But it made my boss cry…so success!) of making the Dragonfly Canvas, I’m making one similar for me. Waiting for the paint to dry…

Ok, now go visit LLJ to see where to portal next.  Have a great week everyone.

Welcome to WOYWW…the “What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday”  blog hop created by Julia at the Stamping Ground.  Julia is recouping from her surgery, so Lovely LLJ is keeping us together,  so hop over there to join the fun.

A quick post this week, as work, and the day have gotten away from me.  So what’s new? We had an enjoyable weekend catching up with old friends in Mass., and across from the tavern we had lunch was a book store…and for reasons I can’t explain…really…not a clue….these journals found their way into my hands!  So you all need to hold me accountable to start art journaling!!! This makes 8 journals...see, need to start using them!

And, thanks to everyone for their kind words on my work in progress for my retiring boss; I did get that finished over the weekend as well; definitely stressed a bit over it…but I like how it turned out. (Ok, tickled pink! My first true mixed media canvas that wasn't tied to an online class!)  She’ll get it tomorrow…fingers crossed! So here are some of the finished photos.

WOYWW #367

Welcome to another What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday...founded by Julia at the Stamping Ground, and currently being nurtured by LLJ while Julia is recouping steadily.  So you can hop there to see the deets!

My desk, as it will look for the next 2.5 hours:I'm prepping for a canvas to give my boss as a retirement gift; she loves dragonfly's, and in my minds eye, it will be stunning.  Stay tuned....
Have to run out to meet my sister and mother for lunch, then when I come back I'll be ready to roll!

These  are four more ATC's I received from Scrapbook Lynn, Claire, Shaz Silverwolf and Sharon K.  And I love all the cards that they came with!

And finally, my stamp show stash unpacked from the backpack I posted last week; in total: 1 Mini MISTI, Gelato Bright Set and Whipped Spackle, Assorted PITT Pens, 14 Die sets, 5 Stencils, 32 Rubber stamps, 1 bottle stamp cleaner, the green bag on the left is filled with all sorts of bling/embellishments, not shown; 1 pack of metallic stardust black layering papers, 2 packs of Papercut's Overlay kits, 1 pack of assorted layering papers in really cool (but not the Christmas theme I wanted) colors, and 2 packs envelopes.  Whew!! And that doesn't include my stint as a Personal Shopper!   It was a good year...and I actually spent less than years past.  It's a Crafty Miracle!! Now don't you dare ask how much of it is put away; there seems to a problem with my bag of holding (reference for any of you gamer folks) at the moment...not really sure where I'm going to be putting the stamps now! LOL!

Now go visit Jan to portal around the world, and have a fantastic week everyone!

WOYWW #366

Welcome to WOYWW…the “What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday”  blog hop created by Julia at the Stamping Ground.  Julia is now home, recouping from her surgery, but still not up to taking back the reins, so Lovely LLJ is keeping us together,  so hop over there to join the fun.

There is truly nothing new on my desk this week; not even a scrap piece of paper has moved; but what is new in the vicinity is not meant to tease…my full backpack of new stash.  I just had to rifle through the pockets to grab the receipts so I can account and cover for all my Heirloom Rubber Stamp Show spending.  The Springfield MA. show does get a few booths smaller each year, but that seems to just let us spend more time (and money) in the booths that are there.  I also received a few more ATC’s. but haven’t photo’ed them yet.  Next week I’ll have them, as well as some of the really great finds of the show. (but you can sorta see my Birthday present to me...the mini MISTI....heard great things...can't wait to give it a try.)

Oh, one thing I did finish, which used up the big stencil you saw last week (so that walked over to the, ahem, third auxiliary desk…), was a quick journal page. The background was made with some new Gelato’s, and the stencil is Donna Downey, with Dylusion’s paints.

Ok, now go visit LLJ to see where to portal next.  Have a great week everyone.

WOYWW #365

Happy WOYWW Everyone! That's What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday, inspired by our hostess Julia at The Stamping Ground.  Julia is recouperating, so our weekly hop is being wonderfully lead by LLJ over at Jan's Fabric Frenzy.

My desk is pretty uninspired...I had great plans to spend many hours in the craft room over our holiday weekend; but the 90+ temps and humidity nixed that.  I hid in the basement where it was cool.  So what you see; some of the last items I was trying not to order...but failed...as I'm trying to save money for the Heirloom Stamp Show this coming weekend. Ah well; the sale was just too great...evil Blitsy!  So some new stencils, two TH dies, and quite a few more Distress Spray Stains to add to the collection.

And as promised; here is the ATC I made for the swap (or a variation of...) I have one left if anyone would like to swap!
And so far I have received ATC's from Julia, LLJ and my PIF swappie, Morti, who very nicely reciprocated. This is so fun!! Here's to many more wonderful WOYWW's!
Now go visit Jan to find the portals to many other creative spaces! Have a great weekend everyone.
