Welcome to another installment of the Compendium of Curiosities Challenge, Vol. 3,
hosted by Linda at Studio L3. This is
the Twenty-third challenge in where we work through the techniques of Tim Holtz
from, you guessed it…his 3rd Volume of the Compendium of
Curiosities!! As in the past challenges,
we can’t give details on the challenge, so don’t ask, but do go get your own
copy of Tim’s fabulous book. Also, Inspiration Emporium has offered an extremely generous $50 Gift Certificate for all the
odd numbered Challenges! So grab a copy, and join in to play!! All the deets are here, at Linda’s blog!
I am very annoyed with myself this challenge. I acquired the folio near the start of the
challenge, and then kept it in my “compendium Stash” pile awaiting it’s turn;
never peaking at the challenges in advance.
Therefore I did not think ahead to collect goodies to put inside. Normally this would not have been an issue;
we do have 2 weeks, except I just didn’t have craft room time…so I only got as
far as the cover, and I'll have a few embellishments to add once it's all set.. To see if I could pull it off (and figure out how to actually
place/use the cascading insert) I went ahead to peruse the Curiosity Crew’s
project. My only defense “I’m not worthy…”
In my best Mike Myers/ Dana Carvey impression…
So please go visit the Curiosity Crew’s sites…where they
show you all those possibilities these Folio’s possess! They are amazing!!!
Kim, this looks like a great start! I love your subject idea and can't wait to see the rest.
ReplyDeleteLove the cover Kim! I know what you mean about not having enough time to complete it! I couldn't even locate mine for the first week of the challenge! Not that I was looking too hard...I had another big project to do right before this one, and I was quite toasty with crafting! Keep on plugging--you have a great idea in mind!

ReplyDeleteThere is nothing wrong with only doing the cover pieces...sometimes masterpieces take a lot of time...lol! I ADORE that celtic knot on the front...just love it! I hope you show us all the completed piece. Thank you so much for participating in the folio challenge at CC3Challenge!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful Kim. Love the subtleness of this and looking forward to seeing how you finish it.
ReplyDeleteI WILL make a scrapbooker of you yet!!
Hugs
xx
I so know the feeling ... I almost did just the cover ... could not believe how much time it took me to decide how I wanted it; I'm going to continue to work on mine until it's all I envisioned :)
ReplyDeleteGreat start! Hope you're sufficiently jazzed to carry on and follow through. Really, really so much fun to get lost in these folios, I'm sure you'll have fun finishing it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful job so far! I hope your post it once it's finished. I'd love to see the photos from your trip
ReplyDeleteThe cover is lovely, so I can only imagine how the rest will be when you have time to finish it. Hopefully you'll be able to carve out some time soon to enjoy the process.
