I wanted to pick a stamp that would give me an opportunity
to work with shading; so picked this one of herbs and bottles; one of the first
stamps I ever purchased! So while I know that puts us in 1996 territory, the
side has "Stampington & Co., 1996" to prove it! In the past I have covered the bottles with
Glossy Accents, but as that makes the Distress blend (and smear my careful
shading tries), I didn't do it this time.
And in true me fashion, while this was colored pretty darn quickly, I
just wasn't sure how to finish. So, as
time is fleeting this week, I simply used Tim’s Burlap Stencil to give texture
to the background, made a stenciled layer to look like a Gelli Plate print
(cause I just couldn't cut up the one that would have worked…gahhh!) and added
the burlap bow I had serendipitously found at Michael s during the week. Yes:
it was a “get ‘er done” kinda project.
So, there is still a week to get your Distress
Watercoloring on; Stop at Linda’s to get all the details. And for those of you
in the US, have a Fabulous July 4th!
