WOYWW #268

Welcome to another “What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday” (WOYWW), the brilliant blog hop initiated by our lovely hostess, Julia at TheStamping Ground….and you can see all the deets there.

I had distressingly little time in the craft room this week.  I finally got up there Sunday with all intentions on working on the next compendium challenge with a,ummm, lets say “chillier” feel, so as not to panic those not yet thinking of a date in December. (yeah, don’t get all “ohh, she’s one of those”..I’ll be slapping my cards together the week before despite all my best attentions…I’m just trying to be prepared with stuff to sell for the November craft fair)

So, after 20 minutes of moving stuff around, and finding my foil tape sheets..I got nuthin’  I normally don’t check the designers work in challenges until I finish mine, lest I be swayed..if you know what I mean..And stingy me won’t cut into these to play around until I have a least an inkling of a plan..So after another hour of touching embossing folders; playing blocks with some of my Christmas stamps, I snapped this picture then want back downstairs to my other obsession; online gaming, where I got to run amok with my Mage and fireball things: A girl has to do what a girl has to do to save the world.

Typing this three days later..and still no thoughts..I guess I’ll be checking out the Design Team’s work during lunch…stay tuned. I hope everyone has a much craftier week!

  1. I feel your pain! This stuff is not cheap so you don't want to waste it, but I find that the biggest killer of creativity! Take some kitchen tin foil, and use a gluestick to add it to some card stock and test your embossing folders that way. It works just as well if not better than the sticky stuff which is hard to stick straight as it is SO sticky, with the kitchen foil and glue it is easier and cheaper and if you mess up it does not matter!

  2. Maybe you should just grab the bull by the horns and just 'do it' you never know what might happen .... you might waste some stash OR it might be fabulous..

  3. Hi Kim,

I read Belinda's comment above. I've seen those foil things in the locally owned stamp store and thought "I could use aluminum foil instead." Needless to say I haven't tried it -- oh but the example they had at the shop really spoke to me!

Thanks for stopping by and saying hello!

    Happy WOYWW

  4. Do you know what? Apart from the bag, I'm finding it hard to settle to anything as well! Procrastination is my middle name at the moment :-)
But you gotta use that expensive stuff, it's no good sitting there!
    Hugs, LLJ 12 xx

  6. Thanks for your comment on my CCC3 entry Kim.

Your post made me laugh and yes, I can totally relate - in fact that sounds just like me :)

I haven't got any of the 'official' silver sticky foil so instead use something I bought from the market - a roll of wide self adhesive silver tape - I think it may be what electricians use. A lot cheaper than Tims stuff (sshh, don't tell him!) x

  7. Like Sherry, I use the stuff on the roll, it's easilly available from DIY shops, I think it's plaster's tape that they put on corners of walls.

  9. Sorry to hear you are having mojo inspiration problems and I hope it soon sorts itself out. When Prince Philip came, he was sitting in the front seat next to his driver and with the window wide open to wave to us. It was a semi-private visit to one of his charities. The British Royal family, especially from Queen Victoria and her son Edward VII down, are firm believers that their best defence against danger is the British people. My computer gaming is limited to Patience and JigSaws and things like those. Hope yuo have a good week. xx Maggie #32
