Was so lucky to have a bit of a play date Saturday
afternoon. The Stamp club members want
to make big canvases to display the cards they’ve been making at the
library. (/wringing hands and cackling…”welcome
to Mixed Media my little chickies!”)
So
first of course I better know how much time things take! And which of my supplies would be better to
bring…if I had more desk room I’d bring them to my house…this may be a
logistical nightmare! So our co leader
and I jumped in. Here is the aftermath;
don’t ask how we each managed to make a 16 x 20 board on that table!!
And here is a close up of my board, stage 1. The shading is from the new Tim Holtz collection
of Mica Sprays through a Stencil Girl stencil. I have to say; I like them more than I thought…just shimmery
enough, in his grungy metallic palette.
This photo sort-of shows the shimmery part
better…
Oh, and look! Winter arrived! First actual snow on April 4! Weirdest winter ever in Upstate New York! But Dakota is happy; she hated the 70 degree days we had in February and March! (me too! LOL!)
Hi Kim, oh my, Dakota is so beautiful! I'm not normally a dog person, but she'd make me change my ways! Great work with the canvases, you are right, it sounds like a logistical nightmare. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #9 xx
ReplyDeleteDakota seems to be enjoying the snow! Your board looks great!

Oh my! One of those things that unless you hung in and do it, you end up over thinking. The first board is lovely..aren't they big! You don't deserve snow this late..looks as if there's a lot of it too! Your dog is very handsome!
ReplyDeleteI like big boards and I cannot lie....😃😃😃 Sorry, couldn't resist that! Glad you've been having lots of crafty fun! Dakota looks extremely happy in the snow, think I would be too 💕

I like the board. It sounds like you had fun.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty husky. My daughter just adopted one today. Hers looks beautiful - I've been drooling over pictures she's been texting me all afternoon.

The board looks lovely, as does Dakota.
ReplyDeleteThat is so totally brave to teach mixed media away from home, did you feel like you needed a u-haul trailer to get it all there? (that part alone impresses me to no end because, I totally make a huge mess when I do things like that) :) love the way this board is progressing. ~Stacy #53
