WOYWW #324

Welcome to WOYWW…the “What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday”  blog hop created by Julia at the StampingGround,  so hop over there to join the fun.

First, for those that congratulated me on my epiphany of last week; I’m actually not retiring until 2030..(ugh!) but am boosting my retirement funds by acquiring items now, rather than thank you, but it a bit off yet.  (really just a way to remove the ever so slight guilt over purchasing stash instead of applying the funds into a new car, or whatever)

That being said….there is some new acquisitions for my future happiness; the dies thanks to enabler Shazsilverwolf (Thanks for the tip!), some more stencils, and a few Christmas Stamps (cause you can never have enough??!!)

The rest of the mess is some items I used for the 3 cards (and yes, I fanned them out before taking the picture) which are techniques from a Craftsy online class: “Wild cards: 21 Techniques with your favorite supplies)  As this particular lesson uses Distress Markers, I was pleased that these where uses/treatments I never would have thought of…so Cool!

I still need to acquire a larger container for my additional Distress Spray Stains and Paints; cause they can’t keep hanging out on the desk like that! And I really need a better marker storage; the Distress Colors of 2015 are running havoc with my storage space! (for those in the know: Will there be additional colors in 2016?  I may need a bigger desk! (And see; that would mean a bigger room once we downsize..this all goes into that 15 year retirement planning; can’t move into a one bedroom senior living apartment…unless Hubby sleeps in the garage! LOL!)

And here are those cards;

This one the border is too thin; but will be better next time

So that’s my desk, now go say Hello to Julia and see what this WOYWW phenom is all about!  Have a great week everyone!

  1. Hi Kim, pleased to have been able to enable, lol. It's like a game of tag on here, rofl! I love how you've done that butterfly card- I never thought of doing that. I may well be caseing that idea. Its brilliant. Have a great week, hugs. Shaz #5xxx

  2. Youve black eyes susans are gorgeous! And who doesn't love butterflies. Thanks for sharing. April #40

  3. Your post had me laughing out loud! I like your retirement plan a lot. It makes total sense to me! As for your hubby sleeping in the garage! Well that had me rolling on the floor! I like your priorities! Your 3 cards are great and what is wrong with your stains standing on your desk? I only ask cos I have the same issue! I just upgraded my Distress paint box by double the size and still need to add the last 5 colours to it...but it is full... now for plan C! Thanks for the laugh. #19

  4. I was laughing so hard I couldn't stop. I wasn't here last week, so missed the 15 year retirement plan. You are certainly thinking ahead at least. I guess I'm lucky I don't own any distress paint or even any distress ink pads. I'm a reinker gal, so I can't help you with your storage problem, I'm afraid. Happy WOYWW from #2, because technically, it's still Wednesday in my world.

  5. Ha ha - here was I thinking you were retireing soon and you are younger than me! definately put him in the garage..or transform the garage for you . Love the cards espicially the top one. Have a great week .Soojay 23

  6. Beautiful cards! I had to buy a second (smaller) tube for my Distress Markers thanks to the new colors, but it's a small sacrifice to make lol. I broke down and ordered Ground Espresso today (I waited a whole day after the release). I had to put my distress paints in a shallow box. I think I'm going to have to re-organize my entire craftroom, maybe the house. #59

  7. I hadn't realised it's a while yet until you retire.... Oh well, it's good to be prepared, that's for sure.
Love your cards, especially the butterfly one (in spoite of the thin border).
    Have a great week,
    Sorry I'm late in commenting,

  8. I really wished I'd been able to take you around Avebury because I could have told you all the folklore about it which is just as interesting as the archaeology! Next time, you must come and stay with us :-)
And of course I'll make you a music stand cover. Two questions though: what's your favourite colour and is your music stand the usual sort of size? If you could measure the length and width in it's folded up state, that would help me!!
Love that butterfly card too...gorgeous :-)
    Hugs, LLJ 10 xx

  9. I need another visit to you, but this time we shall send the boys out while we have a play day!!! Sounds like a plan ey!!!
    That flutterby card is fabulous.
Now time for you to visit me!
Sorry not to have skyped, but Dobby had an appointment to have his nails done straight after work!! Next Friday?

Thanks for stopping by! Your comments mean alot to me!
