WOYWW #360

Welcome to WOYWW…the “What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday”  blog hop created by Julia at the StampingGround,  so hop over there to join the fun.

Today’s view; just me trying to be organized…now that I worked out the bugs on the display board for the stamp club, I have to prep and pack what I can for tomorrow’s meeting.  The tin (which will one day be grunged up) is holding some of the die cuts I made.  The glue on top is the most nasty stuff ever! But it will hold against the canvas which has give; the glue gun didn’t work for long.  In my defense, I am going to state that I must have been interrupted before I was able to get the butterfly dies into the tin holding my TH thinlet sets; because even I couldn’t be that lazy! The little Glad container has thinned down multi-medium for glue work, and I have to remember to find all the foam brushes to pack tonight.  Then there is all the rest of the misc. stuff that seems to be always lying around; some scraps for masking, a few butterflies I’m keeping for myself…and way in the back; the fallen down stamp cleaner that is almost empty…

And here is my finished board; they will hang on the library walls and display some of our current work in hopes we can get a few more members.  I’m surprised how strong the little clothespins are!  I was afraid they wouldn’t hold, or we would need 2 per card, in which case I didn’t have enough for everyone, but Yay!

Different view for me today; as I spent some time over the weekend working at my die cutting “station”…eeewwww…how fancy and organized that sounds! LOL!  So as still stands, in the middle of cutting butterflies and branches from paper colored with Color Bursts for the stamping club.  I was so into the zen of cutting I lost track of time, until my brother and sis in law show up for a cook-out, (mid-70 degrees this past weekend, even on our hill in Upstate NY…miracle!) With luck tomorrow night I’ll finish everything up.

Oh, here is a shot of some of the strips I colored…still getting the feel for those color bursts, but I gotta say…pretty cool stuff!

Not so much to see today; just the mess left over from some card making last Thursday night…On the right is my new Sequin collection; yes…I’m collecting sequins….not really sure why…sure a few here and there are nice…but a collection???

The stamp is from Lost Coast Designs; one of the Manga Goth girls….Shaz (and Hettie)…I’ll be heading to the convention first weekend of June and picking up the mini set; need anything?

Here is the card I made for a coworker….this is our new mantra….way too many  monkey’s running around in this joint!

So there is my mess for the week.  Now hop over to Julia’s and portal to some other creative work desks.  Have a great week everyone.

Welcome to WOYWW…the “What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday”  blog hop created by Julia at the StampingGround, so hop over there to join the fun.

Was so lucky to have a bit of a play date Saturday afternoon.  The Stamp club members want to make big canvases to display the cards they’ve been making at the library.  (/wringing hands and cackling…”welcome to Mixed Media my little chickies!”)

So first of course I better know how much time things take!  And which of my supplies would be better to bring…if I had more desk room I’d bring them to my house…this may be a logistical nightmare!  So our co leader and I jumped in.  Here is the aftermath; don’t ask how we each managed to make a 16 x 20 board on that table!!

And here is a close up of my board, stage 1.  The shading is from the new Tim Holtz collection of Mica Sprays through a Stencil Girl stencil. I have to say; I like them more than I thought…just shimmery enough, in his grungy metallic palette.

This photo sort-of shows the shimmery part better…

So there is my mess for the week.  Now hop over to Julia’s and portal to some other creative work desks.  Have a great week everyone.

Oh, and look! Winter arrived!  First actual snow on April 4! Weirdest winter ever in Upstate New York!  But Dakota is happy; she hated the 70 degree days we had in February and March! (me too! LOL!)

Welcome to WOYWW…the “What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday”  blog hop created by Julia at the StampingGround, so hop over there to join the fun.

Had another great weekend with some serious play time— and not shockingly, the desk is left a mess.  I received my Our Daily Bread Designs order; a Christmas stamp, some dies, and a pack of their paper...which actually might end up a gift…or, to be totally honest, is supposed to be a gift; but might end up staying….I am soooo bad! LOL!

So I played around with the layered die and the Daffy stamp; one card is on the desk; below is the three I came up with; I was going for a pastel spring look for Mother In Law’s birthday; but like the darker one better…so I think she’ll get that one.

Tonight I better clean up; having a play date on Saturday…a true motivator!  So now go visit Julia’s and visit with all the other Desker’s.  Have a great week everyone.

Welcome to WOYWW…the “What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday”  blog hop created by Julia at the StampingGround   so hop over there to join the fun.

Had some honest play time this weekend—the type with no set project in mind; no specific card to make—you know that rare time which usually ends up with you staring at a blank sheet of paper? Pinterest to the rescue! Or not….depending on how you look at it; you can get lost in Pinterest!  But in this case, a good thing.  So I got inspired to first recreate a card sample using the Stampin Up Set “Too Kind”.  Then I just had a ball playing around with other color combos so I have quite a few ready to get placed on cards when needed.   Then I stamped out a ton more Crazy Birds, Cats and Accessories to take to work to color on my lunch breaks…

Oh, I also (and finally) got around to punching little circles out of blank labels, unwrapping all 60 of my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, and marking then sticking the tiny labels on the cap. I’ve had the markers since July; and they were all neat and tidy and properly coordinated in their box; and while I have absolutely no anal or OCD tendencies; I just couldn’t start using them till this was done.  As now I’ll probably get a 2nd Tim Holtz Marker tin and throw them in there all willy-nilly.  But, since there is little to tell the colors apart, except by that tiny label, it would have driven me crazy; or crazier that peeling and sticking (did I mention 60) of those tiny (like…really small) labels to the tops of the pens…

So now go visit Julia’s and visit with all the other Desker’s.  Have a great week everyone.

Welcome to WOYWW…the “What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday”  blog hop created by Julia at the StampingGround,  so hop over there to join the fun.

Got some serious play time in this weekend…thank heavens!  But then when I was done, I still had some time before starting dinner, so I tidied, so the desk is pretty uninspiring.

The new Dylusion's paints need to join their sisters; unfortunately there’s no room in that basket, so they’ll hang out there until I remedy that solution.  The front poppies, with their clear stamps being very up front, are from My Sentiments Exactly…and have matching dies, which made it back to their Artbin case.  The pile mid-left are some pieces/parts and a wayward stencil, that don’t have a place to go to.

Don’t know why I couldn’t put the scissors, tape roll and sponge applicators away…it would have been another 2 seconds.  And I re-arranged my markers, as I prefer the Distress ones in the new tin so I can easily bring to work to color. The white holder I took out of the desk organizer thingy so I can use that as a shelf, and put all my misc. other pens there.  The Green tin is holding misc. die cut parts.

Oh, and here is a canvas panel I made that the Library will display with whatever our next project will be to promote the stamp club.  Used Distress Paints, Molding paste, stencil of unknown origin…

So now go visit Julia’s and visit with all the other Desker’s.  Have a great week everyone.
